Beware domino effect of Spain’s single-hull clamp

Madrid reaction to Prestige will cause contracts chaos. New clauses will need to be drafted in the future to take the Spanish ban into consideration and, as happens where the parties are caught by an unforeseen change in the law, judges and arbitrators will decide who is right and who is wrong as far as outstanding contracts are concerned.
